The Professional Soil Science Association of Oklahoma (PSSAO) was formed to provide for the exchange of technical, political, and regulatory information that influence and guide the profession of soil science. OUR MISSION · To promote wise utilization of soils as a natural resource; · To foster professionalism among the soil scientists of Oklahoma; · To protect the public welfare by encouraging high standards of ethical conduct in the profession of soil science; · To stimulate cooperation and fellowship among members; · To advance the knowledge of soil science in general and that of the members in particular; · To promote high standards of education in soil science; · To enhance public appreciation of the profession; · To assist and encourage those members seeking establishment of a state registration program for soil scientists. PSSAO has about 20 members with various professional backgrounds, including soil consultants, wetland scientists, site evaluators, state and federal government scientists and regulators, teachers, students, and others with an interest in the natural sciences. |
